The mineral your teeth are made of. Now in your toothpaste.
Every product in the Peg Paste range is formulated with one intention; to genuinely support your long-term oral health. No fillers, no shortcuts. Just purposeful ingredients, chosen for a reason.
Hydroxyapatite
The most studied natural dental mineral on the planet. Hydroxyapatite occurs naturally in your teeth and bones — and in toothpaste, it works to remineralise enamel, support strength, and reduce sensitivity with every brush.
Peg Paste uses pharmaceutical-grade micro-hydroxyapatite, the most bioavailable form available.
What the research shows:
Multiple peer-reviewed clinical studies demonstrate hydroxyapatite toothpaste supports enamel remineralisation and helps prevent demineralisation — with results showing equivalence to fluoride in several trials.

Spearmint / Lemon Peel Oil
Two of nature's most effective flavour and freshness ingredients, cold-pressed and carefully sourced. Spearmint leaf oil delivers a clean, lasting freshness while lemon peel oil adds a bright, natural lift — together replacing synthetic flavours with real botanical extracts.
Spearmint has been studied for its antimicrobial properties in oral care, with emerging research suggesting it may support a balanced oral environment. Both oils are used in their pure, natural form — no synthetic fragrance, no compromise.

Glycerin
Sourced from rapseed and soybean, our glycerin is a natural humectant that plays three roles in your toothpaste: it binds active ingredients into a smooth, stable formula; draws in moisture to maintain the right consistency from first use to last; and coats the mouth with a light, lasting hydration that leaves teeth feeling clean rather than dry. It's also what gives Peg Paste its smooth, creamy texture.

Clove oil (Sacred clove only)
Used in traditional dentistry for centuries across cultures worldwide. Clove oil is rich in eugenol — a naturally occurring compound studied extensively for its antimicrobial properties — and has been a staple of professional dental practice since the 19th century, remaining present in many clinical dental materials today.
In Peg Paste, it contributes to a fresher, cleaner mouth with every brush.

Chicory Root
A natural source of inulin — a prebiotic fibre that feeds beneficial bacteria. Your oral microbiome is the second largest microbial site in the body, and emerging research suggests that supporting healthy bacterial balance, rather than eliminating all bacteria, is a more effective long-term approach to oral health.
Chicory root inulin has demonstrated prebiotic effects and is being studied for its role in supporting a balanced oral microbiome.

Calcium Carbonate
A mild, mineral-based abrasive and one of the most widely used ingredients in oral care. Calcium carbonate gently buffs away surface stains and daily buildup, polishing the tooth's surface while remaining soft enough to protect enamel with every brush.
Food-grade and alkaline by nature, it carries a low Relative Dentin Abrasivity (RDA) value — meaning it cleans effectively without compromising enamel integrity.

Acacia Senegal gum / Xanthan gum
Two natural, plant-based binders working together to give Peg Paste its smooth, consistent texture. Acacia Senegal is derived from the sap of the Acacia tree; xanthan gum is produced through natural fermentation. Together they ensure every squeeze delivers the same quality formula — stable, smooth and effective.
Both are food-grade, naturally derived, and safe for oral use.
Xylitol
A naturally occurring sugar alcohol found in corn cobb. Xylitol has been studied for its role in dental health since the 1970s and is FDA-approved as safe for human consumption — dentist-recommended for decades for good reason.
Research suggests xylitol may help support a healthier oral environment by disrupting the energy production of harmful bacteria, reducing their ability to adhere to tooth surfaces and thrive.

Menthol
Naturally derived from mint plants, menthol delivers the clean, cooling sensation you feel immediately after brushing — leaving your mouth feeling genuinely refreshed, not just masked.
Menthol has been used in oral hygiene products for decades and has been studied for mild antimicrobial properties that support a cleaner oral environment

Sodium lauroyl sarcosinate
Derived from sustainable palm, this mild, naturally sourced surfactant gently cleanses the mouth and creates a light, effective foam with every brush. Amino acid-derived and significantly gentler than conventional alternatives, it's well tolerated by sensitive gums and oral tissue — all the clean, none of the compromise.
FDA and CIR approved, and widely used in premium oral care formulations worldwide.

Miswak Siwak
Used for oral hygiene for thousands of years and formally endorsed by the World Health Organisation in 1987 as an alternative oral hygiene aid. Miswak is one of the most historically validated natural oral care ingredients on the planet.
Rich in naturally occurring active compounds, it has been studied for its role in supporting a cleaner oral environment and is used in Peg Paste for both its functional properties and its cultural heritage.

Phenoxyethanol
A globally approved preservative used at minimal, carefully controlled levels (≤1%) to keep Peg Paste's formula safe, stable and effective from the day it's made to the day it's finished.
Approved by the EU, FDA and TGA. Paraben-free, low-irritant, and widely regarded as one of the most well-tolerated preservatives available in modern formulation.
