Hydroxyapatite is the mineral your tooth enamel is made from, it makes up around 97% of enamel's structure, and it's in your bones too.

Enamel loses mineral daily through acid and everyday wear. Hydroxyapatite toothpaste works by putting the same mineral back, supporting remineralisation at the enamel surface. In an 18-month randomised clinical trial, a hydroxyapatite toothpaste performed as well as a fluoride toothpaste for preventing tooth decay.

We use micro-hydroxyapatite

Prebiotics support oral health by promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria, which can help maintain a balanced environment in the mouth. It is important to maintain good oral hygiene so harmful bacteria does not take over potentially leading to bad breath, cavities and disease.

We use sodium lauroyl sarcosinate instead, an amino-acid-derived surfactant, not a sulphate, which gives a light foam without the harshness. It's what makes our no-sulphates claim accurate.

We use micro-hydroxyapatite, with an average particle size of around 1.1 microns.

Nano-hydroxyapatite particles are roughly thirty times smaller. Both are used in oral care and both are permitted in Australia. Micro is the grade we chose, and it's what our particle-size specification refers to.

Toothpaste is heavy. A 190g pump weighs more than most things of its size, and Australia Post prices on weight and distance.

We also ship in a box, not a satchel. A satchel is cheaper and it's what most brands use, but pumps & tubes get crushed in transit and a split tube ruins the order. A box costs us more to buy and more to send, because postage is priced on size as well as weight. We think it's worth it to have the product arrive the way it left.

We don't make anything on Shipping. Orders over $70 ship free, which is usually the cheaper way to buy if you're ordering more than one.

We're a small Australian brand shipping from Australia. We'd rather be upfront about what postage costs than build it into the price and call it free.

Yes, all ingredients are vegan.

Absolutely. Prevention is key when it comes to oral health, so why not instil healthy habits early. Children’s toothpaste normally consists of a lower level or no fluoride because of the greater risk of potential fluoride toxicity. Given Peg Paste is a natural, fluoride-free formulation, it is safe for junior toothypegs. We recommend children use a pea size amount and brush under adult supervision.

Prebiotics and probiotics can both play roles in supporting oral health, but they work in different ways. Prebiotics are fibers that feed beneficial bacteria in the mouth, helping them grow and maintain a balanced environment. Probiotics, on the other hand, are live beneficial bacteria you can consume in foods or supplements to add to the existing healthy bacteria in your mouth. Prebiotics act as “food” for good bacteria, while probiotics are the actual beneficial bacteria that support a healthy balance in the mouth.

Hydroxyapatite, one of our key ingredients, is scientifically shown to support remineralisation and enamel strengthening when used as part of a regular oral care routine.

Yes. Brushing removes plaque mechanically, and calcium carbonate is the mineral abrasive in our formula that does that work, lifting surface build-up and polishing the tooth surface. Brush twice daily for two minutes, and floss.
